Casanova Malluwood Movie Review

Story: A flashy tale, the story begins with Casanova (mohanlal) who runs an international flower business called as Eternal Springs. He is often accompanied by hot and pretty girls in swanky cars and he is busy roaming around the globe. He comes to Dubai to attend the wedding of a millionaire’s daughter. On the other hand, there is a group of robbers (Vikram, shamsi, Arjun, Abhishek) who made good loads of money through big heists. Now, they want to do the same at the wedding and come posing as Casanova’s men. The Casanova realizes that and makes his own plans to handle them. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Casanova Malayalam Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was refreshing. The dialogues were decent, the script was written with value and screenplay was prompt. Background score was good and three songs were there for listening. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was absolutely phenomenal. Mohanlal didn’t have to strain much as his role was tailor made, Shriya looks stunningly beautiful and was a show stealer, Riyaz Khan was good. Jagathy was regular. The group of actors like Vikram, Abhishek, Shamsi, Arjun made their presence felt. The others didn’t have much scope.

Conclusion: After having been on the floors from a long time, the film came in with a lot of hype and it has stood to the expectations in the theatres. While the first half goes about with regular elements of romance and some comedy with songs, it is the second half that gets into the actual plot and has few twists. As such, the focus was more on the packaging and presentation with style rather than substance and content. This would appeal to Mohanlal fans and those who like visual richness. At the box office, this would be an average to above average grosser.
