Scope for different branches in Engineering currently!!

Among several branches in engineering, the largest scope is for electrical and electronics engineering (EEE) due to tremendous growth projected in the power sector in the next 10 years. As a result of the opening up of employment avenues in solar energy, nuclear energy, and biomass energy and other forms of renewable energy, EEE graduates have a good future in the next decade.

Next to EEE, civil engineering also has good scope in the next few years due to technological changes in the construction industry. Another much sought factor is that even the automotive industry has started recruiting EEE graduates since electronics would have greater application in the industry in the immediate future.

Those who pursued postgraduate courses in specialized areas such as ocean engineering and earthquake engineering also will have openings. Girls who pursue mechanical engineering are expected to have a greater chance of recruitment by manufacturing companies due to the conditions imposed by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund last year that 50 per cent of the workforce should be women for the companies to be eligible for IMF funding.

The Union Public Service Commission too has made it clear women have to be given preference during the selection process for the new Indian Engineering Service. With India emerging as the third superpower in this world the global interest has increased on our nation and this has increased the scope of different industries coming into our nation.
